For over 50 years, Tahoe Donner’s Downhill Ski Resort has been widely recognized in the Lake Tahoe ski community as a boutique resort with a big heart. With ample beginner terrain, wide-open runs, a variety of affordable learning programs for adults and kids as young as 3, and friendly, supportive staff, Downhill prides itself on being an accessible entry point and ideal environment for newer skiers and snowboarders to develop their skills. This year, Downhill Ski Resort is thrilled to kick off the 2025/26 season on Dec. 19 (conditions permitting) with the reopening of its brand-new lodge, featuring a host of thoughtfully considered amenities in a sleek, modern building. Guests can enjoy enhancements like level access to the lifts, an expansive and well-appointed sun deck – perfect for après ski – a spacious indoor bar and dining area with panoramic views of the mountain, Pick-Up Box kiosks to print pre-purchased tickets quickly and conveniently, a dedicated kids’ ski school and lesson hub with its own dining hall, bathrooms, cubbies, lunch service and much more.
