Giving Fund

The Tahoe Donner Giving Fund was created in 2014 by the Tahoe Donner Association Board of Directors with the mission to inspire generosity and charitable giving among Tahoe Donner members in order to support deserving programs and youth in the greater Truckee community.

The Tahoe Donner Giving Fund Committee is chartered by the Tahoe Donner Association Board of Directors to administer the Giving Fund, which is an affiliate fund of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, EIN 68-0416404. All contributions are voluntary and are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Thanks to the generosity of Tahoe Donner members, Tahoe Donner Giving Fund grants and scholarships are made through the Giving Fund Committee’s participation in the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation’s annual review process, which awards scholarships in the spring and nonprofit grants in the fall. Member contributions to the Tahoe Donner Giving Fund help those in need, support our youth, protect special places, and make our community a better place for all of us.

Contributing to the Tahoe Donner Giving Fund is a wonderful opportunity to harness the collective goodwill of the Tahoe Donner neighborhood and help the community we love. We hope you will include a donation to the Giving Fund in your plans for year-end giving.

The volunteers on the Tahoe Donner Giving Fund Committee work for you to distribute donations made to the Giving Fund as grants to local community-based non-profit organizations and scholarships to deserving local students. You may have read about these recipients in Tahoe Donner News magazine each month: deserving students who overcome hardship to excel in higher education and careers and dedicated non-profits that bring help and hope to so many in our community. It’s all thanks to your gifts!

This year, we are delighted to give back to you, our donors, during the Giving Together campaign, thanks to the Tahoe Donner Association and renowned photographers Doug DeVore, Justin Majeczky, and Michelle Erskine of the Alpenglow Gallery in downtown Truckee.

Every donation is eligible for a thank-you gift, and donations of $100 or more are entered in these drawings for additional gifts throughout the campaign:

  • All donations of $100 or more from Dec. 12 through March 4 can pick up a matted 16×20″ print of Doug DeVore’s “Above Tahoe Donner” photograph (seen here) from Alpenglow Gallery in downtown Truckee.
  • Every $100 donation* from Dec. 12 through Jan. 1 can opt-in to a drawing for four lucky winners of a pair of Tahoe Donner Downhill or Cross Country Ski Center day tickets (subject to blackout dates), as well as four $50 certificates to Tahoe Donner dining facilities.
  • At the end of the campaign on March 4, every $100 donation* can opt-in to a drawing for an “Above Tahoe Donner” canvas print in a size of their choosing up to 30×45″, which must be picked up at Alpenglow Gallery in downtown Truckee.
  • Donations of any amount will be eligible for a coupon for 30% off a single print at Alpenglow Gallery in Truckee.
*Donation of $100 = 1 entry; $200 = 2 entries, $300 = 3 entries, and so on.

Founding Partner

As our Founding Partner, Elements donates $1 for each of their snow removal clients, totaling over $4,000 annually, to cover all our operating expenses thus making 100% of your contributions available for grants and scholarships.
