Join the Trails, Forestry and Land Management Department in their ongoing efforts to maintain the Tahoe Donner Trail System. Work alongside trail crews this summer to help repair and restore existing trails or help build new ones! Stewardship Days provide the ideal opportunity to volunteer your time while enjoying the outdoors, meeting new people and giving back to the community. Early season dates are subject to change, and some events are still to be determined.

WHAT TO EXPECT
REGISTRATION
Register online – advanced registration is preferred; walk-ins are welcome if space is available.
COST
Unless otherwise indicated, the cost to volunteer on Stewardship Days is free. Volunteer capacity is limited, so be sure to register in advance.
REQUIREMENTS
Volunteers should come dressed in long shirts, long pants, hats, sunglasses or other protective eyewear, work boots and gloves. Bring plenty of water, snacks, bug spray and sunscreen. Tools will be provided; however, it is recommended that you bring your own if you have shovels, a McLeod tool, hoes, loppers and more handy tools. Hard hats (provided) or bike helmets may be required.
COMPENSATION
High fives, new friends, exercise, complimentary drinks and snacks.

GUIDED HIKE AROUND MCGLASHAN SPRINGS WITH TD FORESTRY MANAGER
Friday, April 25 | 3-4:30PM
Meeting Location: Bermgarten Trailhead
Join us for a guided mellow hike around Bermgarten and McGlashan springs where you will learn how to identify trees, learn about past and present forestry projects and get to know your Tahoe Donner Forestry staff.

CELEBRATE TRAILS DAY!

Join us for a meet and greet event along the Trout Creek paved bike path to help us celebrate trails! This event is sponsored by Rails to Trails and will be hosted by members of the Tahoe Donner Association Trails and Open Space Committee.

GUIDED WILDFLOWER TOUR

Meeting Location: Alder Creek Adventure Center
Back by popular demand! Join us for our 3rd annual wildflower tour, led by our resident expert and botanist. This is a slow meander to learn how to identify the flora of Tahoe Donner. Slow off-trail walking on uneven terrain is expected.

GUIDED BIRDING TRIP TO EUER VALLEY

Meeting Location: Alder Creek Adventure Center
Dust off those binoculars and spotting scopes and join us for a guided birding trip where we will learn from local expert and founder of the Tahoe Institute for Natural Sciences. Bring Binoculars, bug spray, water, hat, sunscreen and sturdy shoes.

Help us realign the top of Teewinot Trail near the Glacier Way Trailhead. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your professional and talented in-house trail crew and staff. Hard hats are required (provided), and bike helmets are allowed.
