The Perfect Tahoe Donner Day

Summer is in full swing at Tahoe Donner. With open amenities, trail access and food and beverage options, it can be hard to decide just what to do in a day. We’ve created an overview of our favorite ways to play right in our community from sunrise to sunset. From a morning hike starting at Alder Creek Adventure Center to an outdoor evening meal at The Lodge Restaurant & Pub, dive into all things Tahoe Donner this summer. Don’t forget your face covering!

BEST MORNING ACTIVITY
As the world awakens, take to the trails and enjoy the solitude and peacefulness of the forests and meadows. Rent a variety of children and adult bikes from Bikeworks, indulge in an invigorating morning run or bring the whole family out for a stroll. Masks are required as you hit the trail in case you encounter another trail user. Maintain a social distance around anyone not currently living in your home – step to the side at least six feet to maximize your distance if someone needs to get by.

BEST AFTERNOON ACTIVITY 
Nothing cools you down in the afternoon quite like a dip in the water. Explore Beach Club Marina for its pristine beach and array of boat rentals, or skip the sand to enjoy the lap pool or rec pool at Trout Creek Recreation Center. Make your reservations in advance and soak up that Tahoe summer sun. If you get the afternoon munchies, Marina Grill and Marco Polo Grill are open daily for food and beverages. Beach Club Marina and Trout Creek Pools require reservations so you will be guaranteed plenty of social distancing space. Please follow best social distancing and sanitation practices.

After a morning of exhilaration and connection to the natural world, hop right off the trail and into Alder Creek Cafe for a postadventure lunch with a view.
